On this home page you can find general information about the course. It might take place in January 2005, but this is not sure. The course is only offered in uneven years.

Aim: The purpose of the course is to acquaint the student with the work at a hospital. Especially the departments and specialties, the working circumstances, and the use of different apparatus.

Contents: Three days introduction with teaching and cases. The rest of the course takes place at differnet clinical departments at hospital in Greater Copenhagen. With a doctor as tutor on each of the departments, one will participate in the daily work of the departments: Conferences, surgical procedures (you will only observe, and only if you like to) and much more. You will get involved in more specific biomedical engineering problems and you risk, that you will be motivated to give suggestions to how to solve various technical problems that the staff might face. The stay at the hospital is documented in a short report.

Important remarks: Most of the course takes place at hospitals in greater Copenhagen (Københavns Amts sygehuse i Gentofte, Glostrup og Herlev. Hovedstadens sygehusfællesskab: Bispebjerg hospital, Hvidovre hospital og Rigshospitalet). You will have to be present at the hospital at the time periode assigned.
